This is my duty weapon.  Dan Wesson Valor Bobtail.1500 rounds of .45 during range week with not a single malfunction.  Yes, I know I'll have to watch for certain things and keep and eye on springs. I took a brand new, never fired Dan Wesson 1911 "Commander" to class.  I fired 1500 rounds in 5 days.  My scores were constantly in the mid 90's percentile.  I learned a lot. I had made the statement that I would not be carrying my official issue weapon on duty after the academy (a full size Glock 17).   I also stated that due to the fairly liberal weapons policy, I could carry anything I wanted as long as it passed the PD range masters inspection.
