Ah, August in Texas. The heat of the first part of the last month has turned the grass a nice shade of brown. The ground has cracked, and my mowing job came to a screeching halt. And then 2 weeks ago it rained. Twice.
In all we got about 3 inches of rain around my place. That 3 inches was enough to fool the near dead grass into believing that the water fairy from the sky was back, and all was right with the world. They grew, and turned green almost overnight. Weeds shot up with a vengeance.
And now, as the mercury heads back up to high 90's, and the sun beats down again, now I have to go and cut the grass again. This will be a 3-day job in the cemetery. Three long days.
At least I can go secure in the knowledge that the pink gorilla suit story is finished. Thanks 'Dog!
